Wrestle Review: Death of Allie
Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 03/30/2019 at 12:11 PM

I'm a die-hard Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan! Last night was the regional semifinal game against Houston. It didn't start until 9 so I knew my column would be way late, if I even got to it last night, It was so late that I decided to wait until Saturday. Kentucky advanced to the regional final against Auburn on Sunday. I have a cousin who lives out the road who graduated from vet school at Auburn. Obviously I'm pulling for my Cats, always! 1:20 tomorrow is the Kentucky/Auburn regional final. Okay, now onto wrestling.

Allie is dead. I low-key wondered how Impact would write her out of the show. Turns out, they "killed" her. I did NOT see that coming! I wonder where in the world that angle goes now? Are they going to do a Ministry of Darkness-esque angle? I guess we'll see.

Raw and Smackdown are stumbling through the final stages of the Road to WrestleMania. The Miz/Shane angle is pretty good. I'm interested to see who wins. Shane never wins singles matches, especially at Mania. Miz hasn't won a big Mania match since, well.... And I don't know if a match with the boss' son would qualify as a big match.

Another thing that has rubbed me the wrong way is the Smackdown women's championship situation. Tuesday, they sprung Asuka vs Charlotte on us. Of course it was for the Smackdown women's championship and, of course, the chosen one came out the new champion. Will the winner become dual champion? Is this going to be a unification match? That's what I'd do. Since the women's tag titles are going to be defended on Raw, Smackdown AND NXT, why not do that with the women's championship? Probably not the plan, though. WWE's women's division is something I'm really excited about. Compelling stuff! I'm just not convinced Charlotte needs to be in the mix. But now that it's a double title match, it got more interesting. So I guess it worked out.

What happens tomorrow? A Wildcats win, hopefully). What happens Monday? Tuesday? Where does Impact go after Allie's final show last week? All these questions and more will be answered next week in a new episode of the wonderful, wacky world of professional wrestling!
