Jay's Ways - Best Promotion Of 2018
Submitted by Justin Watry on 03/07/2019 at 08:13 PM

How about another year end awards list for you all on this ice cold Thursday night? Not like wrestling is on television or anything. We are likely just duffing on the couch anyways. Right? Right? Right.

Let's talk about the best wrestling promotions in 2018. Honestly, I only follow one company day in and day out, so this was an easy column to write...

Top 5 Promotions Of 2018

5. GLCW
4. Lucha Underground
3. NJPW
2. ROH

1. WWE - NXT is a part of WWE (per the rules), so this is an easy vote. WWE is the company worth six billion dollars on the stock market and is netting $2 billion in television deals. I am not sure how any other promotion would even be in the same ball park as WWE. Then you add on the NXT product and yeah! No brainer. I did not watch a whole heck of a lot of other promotions in 2018. I asked back in January for anybody to grab my attention and keep it. Nobody did that. Didn't watch a single Young Bucks match. Don't care for whatever the heck Impact Wrestling is doing. Didn't catch much Ring Of Honor on the local channel here in Wisconsin. I went to two independent shows run by GLCW; those were fun. I give them a vote by default. Lucha Underground is still a thing...I think? Oh, I watched Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega. I think that was in 2018, right? That was pretty good for a one time spectacle. Either way, WWE is king and will still be king come 2020. Can I vote for Netflix's GLOW next time around?
