Wrestle Review: Firsts
Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 12/07/2018 at 11:12 PM

I've watched or recorded every single episode of Monday Night Raw since that first episode in January 1993. These past few weeks and months, I've gotten pretty disenfranchised with the program. I was watching a Christmas play Monday night. I would've had a dilemma if Raw had been interesting. Alas, it hasn't been. I did, however, catch up on the HULU version the next day. The shortened version was enough. That should tell you all you need to know about my opinion on the state of Raw.

I was holding out hope that Smackdown was going to be better. After all, it has been the better show. That's not just kayfabe. I don't know why but the blue brand has been better. Granted, sometimes they both disappoint. I love the "new" Daniel Bryan angle. I mean, he even degraded a kid at a house show on his birthday! That is old school heel and I love it! Bryan is how the new heel Dean started out. Now they have him calling fans in the arena smell and walking in with gas masks and getting shots in the butt. They really butchered his heel turn. Total antithesis of Bryan.

I watched Impact earlier tonight while I was fixing something to eat. I dig it. They have some compelling storylines. I continue to be intrigued by Allie's new persona. The Johnny Impact/Taya vs Moose/Tessa main event was a good one. I've been digging what they've been doing lately.

I've also been catching up on New Japan which I've been digging as well. I've said it once and I'll continue to do so: there's something out there for every wrestling fan. That's it for me this week. Enjoy your weekend and the upcoming week of wrestling!
