Wrestle Review by: Andy Sullivan-My SummerSlam Preview

We are just hours away from the 34th annual SummerSlam. The event will be headlined by a last man standing match for the WWE Universal Championship, but we’ll get to that.

Recently, the WWE has been blessed with celebrity guests who have done a damn good job in the ring: Bad Bunny, Pat McAfee and Logan Paul. McAfee and Paul have signed WWE contracts and will compete in seperate matches tonight. Logan, who tore it up at WrestleMania, will compete tonight against his Mania tag partner The Miz. I think Paul will beat Miz. I did like that the first Raw under the Triple H era started with a brawl between the two. With Ciampa being in Miz’ corner, you’d think Paul should have someone in his. I don’t know who that someone might be. I’d say Johnny Gargano but he’s otherwise occupied. I do think that Paul wins this somehow.

Pat McAfee vs Happy Corbin is probably the match fans are looking forward to most that is not a title match. When is the last time you could say that about a match that features Baron Corbin? Given that Pat got shafted at WrestleMania, and that Corbin has attacked him from behind at every turn, Pat wins tonight.

The Mysterio’s face The Judgement Day in a no disqualification match. This could be a perfect time for Edge to return and maybe help Rey and Dom win. I mean, it IS no disqualification. It could happen.

Mr. Money In The Bank Theory has exercised his rematch clause and will challenge Bobby Lashley for the U.S. Championship. That won’t be the only title Theory challenges for tonight. If he is in fact winning the Universal title, I don’t think I’d have him win the U.S. title.

The Usos will defend the unified tag team championships against the Street Profits with hall of famer Jeff Jarrett as the special guest referee. Since Jarrett already caught a superkick last night from an Uso, you might be thinking we finally see new tag champs tonight. I’m not of that persuasion. Somehow, some way, Jimmy and Jey will retain yet again.

Liv Morgan will defend the Smackdown women’s championship against Ronda Rousey. Liv Morgan will lose the Smackdown women’s championship to Ronda Rousey. I wish that weren’t the case but that’s where my head is.

Seth Rollins has issued an open challenge since he took out Riddle and he can no longer compete tonight. My top 3 guesses as to who answers? Randy Orton, The Fiend, and, it won’t be but, Cody Rhodes. Seth is losing again to whomever it is.

Bianca Belair vs Becky Lynch for the Raw women’s championship will last more than 20 seconds or whatever it was. I think Bianca should retain but Becky will win. I suppose Becky could win by DQ to set up a rematch.

Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship in a Last Man Standing Match closes the show. Well, it’s the last official match on the card. Somehow, Roman retains after a brutal match. Theory comes out, cashes in and……Paul Heyman will pull a Paul Heyman, turn on Roman and we will have a NEW WWE Universal Champion to send us home.

Enjoy SummerSlam!
