Women’s Royal Rumble: Potential Winners!

It’s January so you know what that means…it’s time to take those Christmas trees down, oh and it’s time for the ROYAL RUMBLE!

Let’s take a little time to consider who could be the next woman to join Asuka, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair as a Royal Rumble winner, and potentially Wrestlemania main eventer. We’re also going to spend a little time entertaining the idea of a repeat winner.

I’m going to break down my top 5 picks of potential winners, and I’d love to hear yours as well. I do want to make it clear that I was initially 1000% against the surprise participants being announced early, BUT since (I assume some not all) of the returning superstars have been announced, they have raised the level of excitement surrounding the rumble! The Bella’s have us intrigued about a women’s tag team title match for the first time since….ever? Hall of Famer Lita has announced that she’s participating and it actually seems like she has a shot at winning, have you all seen the hilarious back and forth between Nattie and the returning Summer Rae?

Ok, let’s get started, here are my top five picks for the winner of the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.

Bianca Belair – Simply put, Bianca needs her revenge on Big Time Becks! Not only did Bianca prematurely drop the belt to Becky at Summerslam, she ‘doudropped’ it quickly, and was cheated out of rematch wins time and time again. Bianca winning the Rumble for a second time and putting the EST in WrESTlemania isn’t unlikely or a bad idea.  

Charlotte Flair – I’m not the most convinced on this pick, but outside of needing an extra body in the match, I don’t fully see a need for Charlotte to be in this otherwise. I think her winning would allow creative to do whatever they want with the RAW title picture (multi woman match, Bianca etc). Charlotte “The Opportunity” and Smackdown women’s can win and challenge a superstar (Lita, Naomi) to a match that would be a twist on what we’re traditionally use to.

Naomi – Naomi has done some creative things in the Royal Rumble match, what if she actually won it this year! Could you imagine Naomi winning the rumble and main eventing Wrestlemania as the payoff for her and Sonya’s storyline? Sonya could have Naomi enter in the number one spot, and make multiple attempts to have Naomi eliminated even entering the match herself! Naomi is the ultimate underdog in this scenario, the crowd is pretty consistently behind her, and Naomi vs Charlotte in an actual feud would be pretty am-aaa-zing (see what I did there)

Lita – Lita is one of the most popular women in the history of the business, but did you know she’s only had ONE match at Wrestlemania and she didn’t even win it! Lita announcing that she has one more run in her could mean a few things, she’s back to enhance the current roster OR she’s back to win gold and lead the current roster. I’m personally excited about either option.

A returning Alexa Bliss or Bayley – There are a few slots that are still open and I am convinced that Bayley is returning and will add Royal Rumble winner to her already stacked resume! The other return I see happening is Alexa Bliss, I’m not 100% sure what Alexa character we’ll get, but it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen Alexa carrying gold, and with her being the top merchandise seller, it might not be much longer before she’s back on top starting with a Royal Rumble win.

Yeah, I cheated and gave you 6 options, but in my defense, this is the most unpredictable Rumble we’ve ever had, and I’m really excited about it!
