The X-Factor: WrestleMania XL predictions

There’s that little bit of fear in our heads. Would they actually dare and swerve us yet again by not finishing the story? 10 years ago they had no choice but to give us what we wanted and Triple H ain’t stupid. Maybe Rhodes vs. Reigns II was their plan all along.

CM Punk raised the point that the support wasn’t there in 2013. Why wasn’t it?

The anticipation is really something. We’ve felt it from past ‘Manias. Shall we get moving people?

Night 1
Women’s World Championship
Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley (C)

We love how good Ripley is. It always bugged me a a bit that she never got proper payback for tearing the Mysterios apart. That may be coming soon. She hasn’t exactly set the world on fire with her reign. A win over The Man would be just another notch in her belt.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

Intercontinental Championship

Sami Zayn vs. Gunther (C)

So typical. The IWC likes someone yet don’t like it when they get a shot.

Gunther has already smashed not one but two records as IC Champ. Three if you count his Royal Rumble marathon man showing. Maybe he should lose it in Philly. Even if it was Chad Gable which I’m on the fence about, people would whine about that too.

I’m gonna say it probably isn’t Sami’s time.

Winner: Gunther

Undisputed Tag Team Championships
Six-way Ladder Match

The Awesome Truth vs. #DIY vs. The New Day vs. New Catch Republic vs. A-Town Down Under vs. The Judgment Day (C)

Maybe you’ve heard the leading theory that two teams are leaving with straps. Michael Cole’s wording was specific. Both sets of titles have to come down.

It would be cathartic in both ways if Awesome Truth did it. They’ve never had their big-time WrestleMania moment and the Judgment Day has it coming. If the theory is true, who’s the second team? Logic would say it’s Gargano and Ciampa, but if they’re balancing the scales so to speak, maybe Waller and Theory.

Winners: Awesome Truth
If two winners: A-Town Down Under

Jimmy Uso vs. Jey Uso

This one just doesn’t have the heat it should have. We’re likely gonna get 10-12 minutes, Solo might interfere and cost Jey and there’s also the high chance daddy might show up.

Winner: Jimmy Uso

Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar

There’s a nagging feeling that Andrade didn’t come back to join the Judgment Day. He could be a Trojan horse. It’s no small coincidence Dominik started going into business for himself after he showed up. El Ídolo could want some payback on Charlotte and Zelina’s behalf.

While Dirty Dom needs something more besides “I’m a whiny bitch”, he’s probably getting the nod.

Winners: Dominik and Santos

Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Jade Cargill vs. Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane, Asuka, and Dakota Kai)

So you know Bianca’s gonna turn right?

I don’t know. If it happens it happens.

Winners: Damage CTRL

Roman Reigns and The Rock vs. Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes

This one’s hard to predict. The Bloodline look like they’re getting the win. Even if they don’t, The Rock having power means he could still put the screws to Cody and Seth anyway. There’s also Jimmy, Solo, possibly Jey, and Drew.

Winners: The Bloodline

Night 2

LA Knight vs. AJ Styles

This is about as personal as it gets. Going to someone’s house to pick a fight. Remind you of anything?

No doubt LA Knight needs this. Why not? He’s got gold in his future. AJ’s done plenty that he could eke out a great match and still look good after.

Winner: LA Knight, yeah!

WWE Women’s Championship

Bayley vs. Iyo Sky (C)

I’ve said it. There’s one thing that could make this truly memorable. The return of the Hugger.

Bayley leaving Damage CTRL has exposed Iyo’s flaws and Bayley has gone without gold for way too long. Why shouldn’t the Hugger come back? It’s clear the fans never lost their love for her. It could be an updated version. Otherwise people won’t remember this one.

Winner: Bayley

United States Championship
Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens vs. Logan Paul (C)

Orton and Owens look to dethrone Logan. Probably team up to a point, a pitfall or two gets broken up, Paul sneaks in through the back way and protects his title for possibly LA Knight down the line.

Winner: Logan Paul

World Heavyweight Championship Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins (C)

It’s a safe bet Drew’s sticking around longer, and now he could finally get the big title win in a packed stadium like it should’ve happened four years ago.

Seth usually delivers and Drew is often a house of fire. We’re looking at a possible Match of the Year but it’s already up against some stiff opposition from one or two matches.

Don’t forget. Damian Priest has the briefcase.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns (C)

No one said Cody and Seth HAVE to win night 1 to avoid the Bloodline rules stip. The Rock could have it added anyway just to add heat.

The potential for an Attitude Era style main event is real. If it is anything goes it also opens the door for Jey Uso to intervene. What about the theory John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin will show up?

Here we are again. The potential for rage quits if Roman wins again is high.

Cody wins, and here’s what I would do. Reigns is carrying one strap but it represents two titles. Cody could forfeit the Universal title and this sets up a unification match in Paris. Or Rhodes moves to Smackdown and they either get rid of the Universal title for good or keep doing what they’ve been doing.

The wait’s killing us!

Winner: Cody Rhodes

Ok then. Nothing left to do but order the pizzas and watch.

Don’t mess with the X.
