WWE reportedly has no plans to bring back CM Punk despite apparent references on television
As previously noted, AEW terminated the contract of CM Punk following his backstage altercation with Jack Perry at the All In PPV event. There are rumors of Punk making a return to WWE as soon as the 2023 Survivor Series PLE in his hometown of Chicago, IL.
While there have seemingly been references made to Punk on WWE television, Steve Carrier of RingsideNews.com noted the following…
“There are a lot of CM Punk to WWE rumors going around right now. We can confirm that there has been no change. Ringside News was told there are no ‘talks’ about his return to the company. There is no plan to use him, and he is not booked for Survivor Series in Chicago.”
Fightful.com also noted that “WWE higher ups told Fightful Select and top talent that the company is not currently in talks with CM Punk about a WWE return.” It was also noted that any reports claiming Punk has signed a WWE contract are said to be false.
