WWE news items regarding Liv Morgan’s title push, Jeff Jarrett, and Sami Zayn injury

Here are a few WWE news items via Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

* Meltzer noted that “part of the reason, if not the key reason” for Liv Morgan’s push as the Smackdown women’s champion was due to Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on WWE. According to Meltzer, Smackdown needed a “top tier woman babyface” and Morgan was the one that ended up being picked.

* In regards to Jeff Jarrett being a special guest referee at Summerslam, Meltzer wrote that “we were told it’s a one-time thing to help promote the show in Nashville and not the beginning of a storyline where he becomes a television character, but all decisions like that change weekly.”

* Sami Zayn is said to be dealing with a legitimate arm injury and that’s why it was in a sling during the July 15th 2022 edition of Smackdown. The hope is that Zayn will be able to wrestle in a few weeks.
