AEW news items regarding Andrade, Santana’s injury, and debut show in Canada

Here are a few AEW news items via Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

* Andrade El Idolo is reportedly dealing with inflammation in his ankles but is expected back in a few weeks. Despite the issue, Andrade is scheduled to wrestle for Ric Flair’s “last match” as it might be his only opportunity to work with his father-in-law. Meltzer noted that AEW President Tony Khan has been wanting to book Andrade and Rush vs. The Lucha Brothers but it has been delayed due to Andrade not being cleared to wrestle.

* Santana ended up needing reconstructive knee surgery and is expected to be out of action for around eight months. Santana was injured during the Blood and Guts match in Detroit.

* Meltzer noted that AEW “has at least started work on the idea of a Canada debut in Toronto.” People in the market reportedly believe that AEW could sell around 30,000 tickets if the event took place at the Rogers Centre aka Skydome.
