Vince Russo allegedly had discussions with Nick Khan about a potential return to WWE

In his debut Uncrowned column for Yahoo Sports, longtime podcast host Conrad Thompson wrote about former WWE writer Vince Russo. Here is an excerpt from the article…

“A return to WWE all these years later would again send shockwaves around the industry — and that is what was under discussion. I heard that Russo, now 65, had a series of conversations with WWE President Nick Khan about a possible return to WWE this past summer.”

Russo recently announced his departure from Juggalo Championship Wrestling. Thompson noted that while Russo allegedly spoke with Khan, he doesn’t believe Russo will get the opportunity to work for the company. Thompson explained that the issue isn’t Russo’s talent, but rather his reputation, arguing that two generations of wrestlers and WWE personnel have strong negative opinions of him, including some who may have never met him.

Thompson added that Russo working in WWE’s creative room today likely wouldn’t work, as his ideas would face more resistance and less open-minded consideration than the same ideas presented by someone sitting beside him.
