Update on the potential opponents for CM Punk when he returns to AEW television

As seen during the May 31st 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, President Tony Khan announced/confirmed that CM Punk will be returning for the debut of Collision as a “featured” star.

In recent weeks, there have been rumors of Punk feuding with either Chris Jericho or Samoa Joe when he makes his return to AEW television for the debut of Collision. However, Fightful.com noted that they haven’t heard any new information about Punk vs. Jericho for quite some time but Punk vs. Joe is an idea that is believed to be still in the works.

There is reportedly another name that is being discussed to wrestle Punk. According to Fightful, Punk has taken a liking to the work of “Switchblade” Jay White and White could end up being one of Punk’s first opponents.

In other Punk news, he was shown on WWE Smackdown during Roman Reigns’ 1000 days as world champion video package.
