Update on the investigation into CM Punk’s altercation with The Elite
As previously noted, there is an external third-party investigation looking into the backstage altercation between CM Punk and members of The Elite following the 2022 AEW All Out PPV.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com tweeted additional details regarding the situation…
“Everyone involved in the brawl is now officially suspended, Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, plus Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa. Ace Steel was also taken off and CM Punk’s situation should be clear soon. It’s all pending the completion of the investigation. There were neutral parties who saw everything and their versions are likely going to determine how this all plays out.”
When asked why names such as Buck and Daniels were suspended, Meltzer stated the following…
“I can only guess but my gut says it’s pending the investigation, keeping everyone off. When the investigation is completed, then the decisions will be made on everything and that’s how it should be.”
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that “pretty much anyone and everyone who entered CM Punk’s locker room that evening during the fracas will be kept at home while the company sorts out the issue.” Johnson added that as of Wednesday morning, no final decisions have been made in regards to titles being stripped or people being fired.
