Update on Mustafa Ali’s status with WWE after requesting his release
As previously noted, Mustafa Ali wrote on his social media accounts that he was requesting his release from WWE.
In an update on the situation, Ali is still with the company and Fightful Select is reporting that WWE does not plan to grant Ali’s request for the time being. The site noted the following…
“Those that Fightful Select heard from confirmed that WWE and Ali have spoken with each other and that Ali was informed that they would not be granting his request for a release at this moment.”
Ali reportedly has multiple years left on his WWE contract but he hasn’t competed since losing to Drew McIntyre on the October 29th 2021 episode of Smackdown.
Ali has been posting training videos in recent days.
