Update on Ace Steel’s status with AEW following the announcement of Collision’s debut

During the May 24th 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, president Tony Khan officially announced that the first episode of Collision will take place at the United Center in Chicago, IL.

While not officially announced by Khan, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com was able to confirm that Punk will be returning for Collision’s debut. There were reportedly a number of issues worked out including an agreement that nobody will speak publicly about Punk’s backstage altercation with The Elite.

Another issue that was resolved involved Punk’s friend Ace Steel. It was reported that Steel has been under an AEW deal for “many weeks” and it’s being reported that he will be working from home as part of an arrangement with the company. F4WOnline.com added that “Steel’s return to the company is believed to have been a sticking point that arose last week and caused Punk’s name and image to be removed from the Collision announcement at the WBD upfront.”
