The reason for Xavier Woods’ lack of WWE matches since winning the NXT tag team titles

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are the current WWE NXT tag team champions but Woods has yet to wrestle in WWE during 2023. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following about the situation with Woods…

“PWInsider.com is told Xavier Woods is banged up and not yet 100% cleared, which is why New Day hasn’t been seen more inside the ring. The expectation internally is that he should be good to go by Royal Rumble, if not sooner.”

Woods was in Kingston’s corner during Sunday night’s WWE live event in Huntsville, AL as Kingston defeated Kit Wilson of Pretty Deadly. Woods was also in Kingston’s corner for Kingston vs. Santos Escobar during Smackdown this past Friday.
