Rumor killer regarding Buddy Matthews and AEW
As previously noted, Buddy Matthews announced during Saturday night’s Fight Life Pro Wrestling event that he will “need to go away for a while” to recalibrate.
There is a report going around that Matthews had been suspended by AEW at one point. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com shot down the rumor…
“There is nothing to that story and the time period where Matthews was absent from the company was actually due to him having to return to Australia to handle paperwork processing for his work visa so he could continue to work in the United States, just as all foreign-born professional wrestlers would have to do when their existing visas come up.”
The belief is that both Matthews and Malakai Black will return to AEW television at some point.
