Ricky Steamboat rumored to be one of Ric Flair’s opponents for upcoming match
As previously noted, Ric Flair officially confirmed that he will be coming out of retirement for a match on July 31st in Nashville which is the day after Summerslam in the same city.
It was recently rumored that Flair will team up with FTR against the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and another competitor. According to Fightful Select, that other competitor could end up being Ricky Steamboat. The site noted the following…
“This is hardly a coincidence that the two foes are returning to the ring at the same time, and that there’s a working plan to have the two involved in a match against one another, albeit not in a one-on-one format.”
Steamboat reportedly met with Conrad Thompson about being part of the match. The match is part of Thompson’s Starrcast V event and the Jim Crockett Promotions brand is being revived for the event.
