Thekla (c) vs. Starlight Kid for the AEW women’s title took place at AEW Forbidden Door 2026. Here are the highlights…

Starlight Kid gained the early advantage, forcing Thekla to regroup on the outside. Thekla took a cheap shot to gain the upper hand. She then showboated on the ropes, but Starlight Kid took advantage by dropkicking Thekla out of the ring. Thekla was able to regain the advantage on the outside. Thekla had words with Stardom president Taro Okada at ringside.

Back in the ring, Starlight Kid was able to build momentum by targeting Thekla’s
knee. Thekla regained control with a spider suplex, but Starlight Kid dropkicked her off the top rope. Starlight Kid then connected with a knee strike followed by a slam to Thekla on the apron.

Back in the ring, Thekla avoided a moonsault and connected with a spear. Starlight Kid stayed in the fight by avoiding Thekla’s stomp. After the two exchanged strikes, Thekla came off the top with a crossbody, but Starlight Kid kicked out.

Starlight Kid applied a stretch muffler submission, but Thekla was eventually able to reach the ropes. Starlight Kid hit Divine Punishment, but Thekla was able to kick out. Starlight Kid then delivered a moonsault, but Thekla kicked out again. Thekla was eventually able to hit the spear, but Starlight Kid kicked out. Thekla finally put away Starlight Kid with two stomps.

After the match, Thekla took off Starlight Kid’s mask. Thekla then spat on the mask and assaulted Okada with it.
