Results of MJF vs. Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End 2023 PPV

MJF vs. Samoa Joe for the AEW world title took place at the 2023 AEW Worlds End PPV event. Here are the highlights…

* A video package with comments from Long Island, NY locals was shown before MJF’s entrance. MJF was wearing a robe that had “King of Long Island” written on it. MJF introduced Adam Cole to be in his corner for the match. MJF’s shoulder was banaged up and he was wearing a sling.

* MJF went after Joe but Joe quickly gained the upper hand. Joe targeted the shoulder and arm. MJF was able to avoid a muscle buster and sent Joe to the outside. Joe back in the ring and MJF went for multiple pin attempts but couldn’t put away Joe.

* Joe regained the upper hand and gave MJF a muscle buster on the ring apron. Back in the ring, MJF managed to fight back. MJF came off the top with a stomp onto Joe’s arm and then hit a heatseeker but Joe kicked out.

* The match continued but then the referee was knocked down. MJF laughed and took advantage of the situation by giving Joe a low blow. After being unsuccessful with his first attempt, MJF got Joe up on his shoulders and dropped him with an F5. The referee slowly recovered and made the count but Joe kicked out.

* Joe applied his Coquina Clutch submission. MJF struggled to escape but couldn’t do it and Joe was declared the new champion. There was a “bullshit” chant after the match as Cole checked on MJF.

* After Joe left, the Devil’s henchmen showed up and attacked MJF. They grabbed Cole and MJF told them to not “f*cking” hit him. The lights went out and Cole was sitting in the ring. The Henchmen unmasked as Wardlow and The Kingdom and MJF was powerbombed.
