Results of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Damian Priest and Finn Balor at WWE Payback 2023 PLE

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (c) vs. Damian Priest and Finn Balor for the tag team titles took place at the WWE Payback 2023 PLE. Here are the highlights…

* This was a Steel City Street Fight.

* The match quickly went to the outside of the ring with chairs and kendo sticks being pulled from under the ring. Balor pulled out a Pittsburgh towel and stomped on it for heel heat. Owens and Zayn put a trash can over Balor’s head and hit it with kendo sticks. Owens and Zayn went outside and pulled out a table to a big pop.

* The fight went into the stands. Dominik Mysterio showed up to help his Priest and Balor. Owens had been busted open at some point around this time. Judgment Day celebrated but then Owens and Zayn re-appeared with Pittsburgh hockey jerseys. Owens and Zayn had hockey sticks that they used as weapons.

* Back in the ring, Zayn delivered a Blue Thunder Bomb to Balor on steel chairs but Balor kicked out. The crowd started a “this is awesome” chant.

* The tide turned in Judgment Day’s favor when Priest slammed Zayn back-first onto several chairs that were opened up. Judgment Day isolated Owens and fought with him in the crowd. Zayn returned and jumped off the kickoff panel desk onto Judgment Day. Dominik was laid out on a table and Owens put him through it with a swanton off a balcony.

* Back in the ring, Balor was put through a table. Owens hit a stunner to Priest and Zayn was about to pin Priest with a Helluva kick but JD McDonagh pulled Zayn out of the ring. Owens took out McDonagh but Rhea Ripley showed up and tackled Owens through a barricade.

* Zayn was able to avoid Balor’s Coup De Grace and hit the helluva kick. However, Dominik hit Zayn with the Money in the Bank briefcase and Balor scored the pinfall victory.

* After the match, Judgment Day celebrated as pyro went off.
