Results of Jon Moxley vs. MJF at AEW Full Gear 2022

Jon Moxley (c) vs. MJF for the AEW world title took place at AEW Full Gear 2022. Here are the highlights…

* The crowd was behind MJF and chanted “new champ” while Moxley received a mixed reaction. Moxley smacked MJF right in the face when the match started. MJF slapped Moxley and Moxley responded with several shots. Moxley started biting MJF and then flipped off the crowd.

* MJF gained the upper hand and did Ric Flair’s strut to taunt Moxley. MJF teased doing a dive to the outside but just kept running the ropes.

* The two fought on the outside of the ring and MJF was sent into the steel steps. Back in the ring, MJF started to build up momentum. MJF went back to the outside and brought the timekeeper’s table by the ring. Moxley took advantage of the situation and regained control.

* The two ended up on the apron and MJF gave Moxley a tombstone but then started selling his knee. MJF went for a cover but Moxley kicked out. They ended up back on the apron but this time Moxley gave MJF a piledriver through the timekeeper’s table. MJF was barely able to beat the ten count. Moxley immediately hit a paradigm shift but MJF kicked out.

* Moxley targeted the leg and put on a figure four leglock but MJF was eventually able to reverse the hold. Both ended up on the top rope and Moxley managed to hit an avalanche paradigm shift. However, MJF was able to grab the rope. Moxley started taunting MJF and said “hit me motherfucker.” MJF tried to fight back and the two started trading blows.

* The referee got knocked down and MJF pulled the Dynamite diamond ring from his trunks. William Regal came down to ringside and told MJF to put it down. MJF got rid of the ring and flipped off Regal. Moxley applied a chokehold to MJF but MJF broke out. A 2nd referee came in but was also knocked down.

* Moxley applied the bulldog choke and MJF tapped out but the referee was still down. Regal slid the brass knuckles to MJF and he hit Moxley with them. MJF then pinned Moxley to win the title.
