Results of John Cena vs. CM Punk at WWE Night of Champions 2025

John Cena (c) vs. CM Punk took place at WWE Night of Champions 2025. Here are the highlights…

* The crowd was evenly split as both wrestlers engaged in a feeling-out process. Cena avoided an early GTS attempt and rolled out of the ring to regroup. Back in the ring, Punk gained momentum. Cena eventually took control, delivering the Five Knuckle Shuffle and attempting an AA, but Punk escaped. Punk delivered a top rope elbow drop and went for the GTS but Cena countered with an STF. Punk reversed the STF with an anaconda vice.

* Cena landed the AA, but Punk kicked out. Punk regained control with Cena’s STF, but Cena reached the ropes. Cena countered another GTS with a second AA, but Punk kicked out again. Cena took down Punk with a third AA, but Punk kicked out yet again.

* Cena considered using the World Title as a weapon but chose not to. Punk capitalized with a GTS, but Cena kicked out. After the referee was accidentally knocked down, Punk hit another GTS, but no one was available to count.

* At this point, Seth Rollins and his faction came down to the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Punk tried to fight off Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, but the numbers game caught up with him. Breakker and Reed put Punk through the announce table.

* Rollins brought out referee Charles Robinson, but Cena attacked Robinson. Cena then targeted Rollins but was overwhelmed by Breakker and Reed. Penta and Zayn intervened, engaging Breakker. Punk saved Reed from a Tsunami, but Cena took out Reed with an AA, leaving Cena and Punk to finish the match.

* Punk offered a handshake, and Cena accepted. Cena then attempted to attack Punk, but Punk fought back and went for the GTS. Rollins interrupted with a Curb Stomp on Punk. Cena threw Rollins out of the ring and pinned Punk to retain his title.
