Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta for the men’s Intercontinental title took place at WWE Backlash 2025. Here are the highlights…

* Dominik started strong with a suicide dive that transitioned into a DDT on the floor. Back in the ring, Dominik continued to dominate Penta as the crowd erupted in dueling chants.

* Penta mounted a comeback with a top-rope crossbody to Dominik on the outside. After both men returned to the ring, Dominik used Liv Morgan’s Oblivion move to regain the advantage.

* Penta delivered a Mexican Destroyer to Dominik on the apron. At this point, Carlito ran down to ringside. Finn Bálor grabbed a chair but was caught by the referee, leading to Judgment Day being ejected from ringside. However, El Grande Americano attacked Penta with his loaded mask, allowing Dominik to score the pinfall victory with a frogsplash.
