Results of Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther vs. Sami Zayn at WWE Night of Champions 2026

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther vs. Sami Zayn for the WWE title took place at WWE Night of Champions 2026. Here are the highlights…

Gunther dominated the early moments of the match. Cody was able to build up some momentum after hitting a double Cody Cutter on both opponents. Gunther came back with a powerbomb to Cody, but Zayn broke up the pin attempt. Zayn delivered a Blue Thunder Bomb to Cody, but Gunther sent him out of the ring. Cody hit a Cross Rhodes on Gunther, but Zayn pulled the referee out of the ring.

Zayn delivered the Helluva Kick to Gunther and went for the pin, but Cody pulled the referee out of the ring. Zayn brawled with Cody on the outside, which led to Cody giving Zayn a back body drop through the announce desk.

Gunther took advantage of the situation by powerbombing Cody onto the announce desk and then powerbombing him through it on a second attempt. Back in the ring, Gunther applied the sleeper hold to Cody, but Cody managed to escape. Gunther reapplied the sleeper hold, but Zayn prevented Cody’s arm from falling.

Zayn hit another Helluva Kick on Gunther, but Gunther managed to kick out. Gunther regained the advantage over Zayn, but Cody got back into the mix. Cody went for a Cross Rhodes on Zayn, but Zayn reversed it and pinned Cody to win the title.

After the match, Zayn celebrated his victory with the fans at ringside. Zayn noted that it took him ten years to win a world title in WWE.
