Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr. took place at AEW WrestleDream 2023. Here are the highlights…

* Jon Moxley was on guest commentary for the match.

* The two had a feeling out process in the early moments. They exchanged holds on the mat as Moxley explained the strengths of each competitor. Both guys got to their feet and the crowd started a “this is wrestling” chant.

* After several minutes, Sabre delivered the first strike of the match and the two exchanged shots. Sabre stomped on the arm of Bryan that had been injured. Sabre continued to target the arm and the crowd started booing him. Bryan recovered and targeted Sabre’s knee with dragon screws.

* Bryan delivered an avalanche butterfly suplex and applied a single leg crab but Sabre got to the rope. Bryan hit multiple yes kicks and then kicked Sabre’s head in. Sabre avoided the running knee and the two kept countering each other. The crowd gave them an ovation.

* The match continued to go back and forth with each targeting the other’s injured body part. Bryan hit the running knee but Sabre kicked out and the fans gave them another ovation. Bryan hit another one and scored the victory.

* Bryan wanted a handshake after the match but Sabre declined and left the ring.
