Report: WWE sources believe story about Ludwig Kaiser defending Andrea Bazarte from ICE comments was planted
WWE star Ludwig Kaiser aka El Grande Americano, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, was arrested on May 20th 2026 in Orange County, Florida. Barthel was charged with battery after allegedly assaulting a man at their apartment building. There is an unverified claim that the man threatened to “call ICE” on Kaiser’s girlfriend.
In an update, False Finish noted that WWE “is not expected to discipline Ludwig Kaiser following his arrest last week.” Fightful.com also stated the following about the incident…
“While speaking to a number of sources within WWE, they believe the story about Ludwig Kaiser defending himself and Andrea Bazarte from ICE comments was planted within the company, @FightfulSelect was told there was an unfamiliar number that reached out to several members of the wrestling media with the story, as opposed to Kaiser or Andrea themselves, or a member of WWE’s team.”
In related news, court records revealed that Gunther paid Kaiser’s bond. The cash appearance record shows Gunther, listed under his real name Walter Hahn, deposited the $1,000 bond and signed the document.
