Report: The reason why Randy Orton has been off WWE television since WrestleMania 42
As seen during WWE WrestleMania 42 Saturday, Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton to retain the WWE championship. It was later reported by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com that the original outcome for WrestleMania Saturday was going to be Orton winning the WWE Title.
Orton has been out of action since WrestleMania and Cody has now started a feud with Gunther. In regards to Orton’s absence from WWE television, Meltzer stated the following…
“Back injury. That’s why he’s been gone since WrestleMania and it’s probably why he didn’t win the title. He’s got a back injury and it’s significant. He’s had it for years. It almost ended his career, came back, still there and that’s why he’s been out.” (quote courtesy of WrestlePurists.com)
It was previously noted that Orton was “hurting” heading into WrestleMania.
