Report of Sasha Banks being released from WWE said to be “accurate”

As previously noted, Sasha Banks and Naomi were indefinitely suspended by WWE after walking out of RAW on May 16th 2022 and there was talk this week that Sasha was released from the company.

In an update on the situation, Twitter account @WrestleVotes noted the following…

“The word backstage from SmackDown tonight is that the report from @TheRajGiri is indeed accurate according to multiple sources. Sasha Banks has been released from her WWE contract.”

Sasha was reportedly working with lawyers to get out of her WWE deal. For what it’s worth, Sasha is still listed on WWE.com’s active roster page as of Friday night.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com wrote the following about the situation…

“A lot of very well connected people are saying that she’s been released. At least one talent, and one big backstage name believe it. WWE hasn’t confirmed this to me personally, and hasn’t informed people that are usually made aware of this as of yet.”

Andrew Zarian of F4WOnline.com said the following about Sasha and WWE…

“In their minds, they could clone Sasha with somebody else and have her fit that role, and no problem. It’s now a role you’re playing. It’s a role with mid-level actors. Everybody’s a mid-level actor, except for a Roman Reigns, or a Brock Lesnar, or a Cody Rhodes. Those guys are the stars.” (quote courtesy of SEScoops.com)
