Plans announced to crown a new AEW TNT champion due to Adam Copeland’s injury

As previously noted, AEW TNT champion Adam Copeland announced that he suffered a fractured tibia at the 2024 Double or Nothing PPV event and will need to have surgery.

During the May 29th 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicolas Jackson) made an official regarding the TNT title. They said that Copeland was stripped of the title and Jack Perry was declared the new champion.

Christopher Daniels interrupted The Elite’s segment and revealed that he was appointed as an interim EVP by AEW President Tony Khan. Daniels said that titles were not being handed to and Perry would have to earn his opportunity. Daniels confirmed that qualifying matches will be taking place for a ladder match at the Forbidden Door PPV to crown a new champion.

Just before The Elite could award Jack Perry the #TNT Championship, "The Fallen Angel" returned to make a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!
