Nick Aldis makes decision regarding the WWE Women’s Title as a result of Chelsea Green’s injury
General Manager Nick Aldis opened the August 14th 2026 edition of SmackDown by informing Chelsea Green that, due to her broken eye socket, she would have to relinquish the Interim WWE Women’s Championship. Chelsea reluctantly handed over the title but argued that she had finally earned her moment and was determined to keep fighting.
After reconsidering, Aldis decided to give Chelsea 30 days to receive medical clearance, allowing her to remain champion until then.
Gunther then interrupted and confronted Aldis over his decisions at SummerSlam, leading to a heated exchange with Chelsea. Matt Cardona came to Chelsea’s defense and punched Gunther in the face, sending him to the floor. The two men later faced off in a match, which Gunther won.
