As seen during the November 27th 2023 edition of WWE RAW, CM Punk cut his first promo since returning to the company at Survivor Series and said that “almost everyone” was happy to see him back.
Some fans on social media were disappointed with the promo and felt that it was too short. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following…
“We are told that the initial plan was for a longer promo that would have given Punk more time, but timing issues led to the Randy Orton vs. Dominik Mysterio match to go longer than initially planned, so Punk’s time was cut.”
In regards to why AEW was not mentioned or referenced by Punk during the promo, Nick Hausman of HausOfWrestling.com noted how “it was reiterated that Punk is looking to move past the drama of AEW entirely and has no plans to address any of what happened there.” It was added that Punk’s movements as the show ended were not intended to mock The Young Bucks for doing a victory lap on television after he was fired from AEW.
sooooo im gonna need someone in the building to confirm, but im PRETTY SURE CM Punk was doing the Young Bucks victory lap as soon as USA Network cut the feed 😭😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/Z4DN40N0aa
