News regarding Nick Khan’s growing influence in WWE

As previously noted, WWE has been making some corporate changes over the past several days.

WWE President Nick Khan has been involved in the changes and Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following about Khan’s influence…

“We are told by a number of WWE sources that Khan has been given great power and leeway by Vince McMahon to move WWE forward into the future and prepare to bring the company towards a more mainstream entertainment property.”

In regards to making WWE more mainstream, Johnson wrote that Khan wants to position WWE’s intellectual property as “something to similar to Marvel and DC with lots of potential crossover appeal not just for performers but the characters and WWE brand itself.”

The current internal restructuring of WWE is said to be an ongoing process with more changes expected in the coming weeks.

During a recent interview, new WWE RAW play-by-play announcer Adnan Virk talked about how Khan was his former agent at the Creative Artists Agency.

It was recently revealed than Khan was paid $13 million dollars by WWE in 2020 which was more than any McMahon family member.
