News regarding MJF’s status with AEW following the 2022 Double or Nothing PPV
As seen at the 2022 AEW Double or Nothing PPV, Wardlow defeated MJF in dominating fashion. After the match, MJF was taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following regarding MJF’s status…
“MJF arrived at the venue for the PPV tonight at what was described to PWInsider at ‘the last minute’ and left the venue right after his match. The expectation is that he will not be on the road at least for the next several TV tapings, possibly longer.”
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, MJF said he will be going dark on social media for the time being while he thinks about his future. MJF’s contract with AEW reportedly expires on January 1st 2024.
While speaking to media after the 2022 Double or Nothing PPV, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the situation with MJF. Khan said that he wasn’t going to comment on the matter.
