News regarding AEW’s first quarterly special on TNT in 2022
As previously noted, AEW will be holding four specials a year on TNT starting in 2022.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, AEW is looking to air an event similar to WCW’s Clash of the Champions on Saturday, January 8th. Zarian wrote the following…
“Per source: AEW is planning a TNT Special on Jan 8th. They’re obviously not able to use the name ‘Clash of the Champions’ due to WWE owning the rights…However, I’m hearing the possible name for this show will be ‘Battle of the Belts’ A throwback to NWA/CFW from.”
