New details regarding Drew McIntyre being “disqualified to compete” by WWE

As previously noted, Drew McIntyre was pulled from the December 9th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown after being “disqualified to compete” in the unified tag team titles match and it was later confirmed that McIntyre was injured.

In an update, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that both McIntyre and Roman Reigns suffered ruptured eardrum injuries at the Survivor Series PLE. Both are expected back in action soon although Reigns is being kept off live events for the rest of 2022. McIntyre is scheduled to be part of the December 26th WWE event at Madison Square Garden in an eight-man tag team match with the Brawling Brutes against The Bloodline.

Meltzer wrote the following regarding McIntyre’s injury…

“McIntyre was hurt at Survivor Series but kept working on it through the 12/4 house show in Portland, ME, but didn’t realize he was hurt that bad until he was examined after that show.”
