MJF doesn’t appear at scheduled meet-and-greet prior to AEW Double or Nothing

It was previously reported that MJF has been frustrated about his AEW contract and wants to be paid more money. MJF referenced his contract expiring (2024) on television during the May 11th 2022 edition of Dynamite.

Twitter user @fuller_kiley noted that MJF, who is scheduled for a match against Wardlow at the 2022 Double or Nothing PPV, no-showed today’s meet-and-greet appearance during AEW’s Fan Fest. Security reportedly said that MJF was not picking up his phone and Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com had some additional details about the situation…

“The word making the rounds at the event is that he legitimately did not attend and that the promotion was not able to get in contact with him. For fans who had paid for MJF autographs and photos, AEW staff did their best to make good to them, including offering exchanges to other talents.”

Johnson added that MJF “hasn’t been on the same wavelength of late” with AEW and has not been receptive to sitting down and talking up to this point. It’s believed that MJF has at least 18 months left on his current deal.
