Kairi Sane issues new statement after report circulates about her departure from WWE

Kairi Sane was among several WWE departures announced on April 24th 2026. Following the news of Kairi’s departure, a #WeWantKairi movement trended on Twitter/X.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com stated that Kairi had “kind of indicated she wanted to move back” to Japan, which may have factored into WWE’s decision to release her. On Tuesday evening, Kairi issued the following statement via Twitter/X…

“What I can say is I know there’s been a lot of speculation, but I truly love this work, my teammates, and my fans. I’ve never walked away, and I’ve given my all in everything I do. I hope you’re all doing well.”

Meltzer clarified his remarks by writing, “I didn’t say she walked away. I said this was the reason WWE gave for the release.”
