Early idea reportedly being discussed for Cody Rhodes’ WWE Wrestlemania 40 opponent
Even though WWE Wrestlemania 40 is almost a year away, an early idea is reportedly being discussed for Cody Rhodes’ opponent. Twitter account @WRKDWrestling tweeted the following…
“While it’s still early, discussions have taken place for WWE RAW’s main event for Wrestlemania 40 to potentially be Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther. Both superstars have expressed interest in working with each other in the past and are seen as the top face and heel on the RAW roster.”
As previously noted, Cody and Gunther are said to be internally listed as the top RAW babyface and heel respectively. As seen during the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match, Cody eliminated Gunther last to score the victory.
Another possibility for Cody at Wrestlemania 40 is a rematch against Roman Reigns with @WrestleVotes telling the following to GiveMeSport.com…
“I can say this. The rematch that’s at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Cody vs Roman, is very much on the table to main event in Philadelphia next year.”
