Drew McIntyre singing with Tyson Fury was allegedly not supposed to be televised
As seen during the 2022 WWE Clash at the Castle PPV, Roman Reigns retained his unified Universal title against Drew McIntyre. After Reigns left, boxer Tyson Fury got on the mic and praised McIntyre. Fury started signing the song American Pie and McIntyre sang with him. McIntyre spoke and praised the fans. McIntyre then started to continue singing and the show went off the air.
It appears that the singing was meant for the live crowd only as a way to send them home happy. During his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. commented on the singing…
“The end of the match was weird because they forgot to say cut. I know this for a fact. I asked a couple of people. They left the feed running and all of a sudden Drew McIntyre was feeling good, Tyson Fury came out to the ring, and they sang ‘Sweet Caroline’ after a loss. It was so weird.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
