Drew McIntyre pulled from post-Christmas 2022 WWE live event

As previously noted, Drew McIntyre was pulled from the December 9th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown after being “disqualified to compete” in the unified tag team titles match and it was later reported that McIntyre suffered a ruptured eardrum.

In an update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that McIntyre has been pulled from the December 26th WWE live event at Madison Square Garden and won’t be able to return until the company’s medical protocol clears him to wrestle again. Johnson noted the following…

“WWE sources have confirmed that the reason a change was made to their Madison Square Garden main event on Monday 12/26 for the annual post-Christmas event is that Drew McIntyre will not be cleared to return to the ring by the time the show takes place.”

An eight-man tag team match was scheduled to headline but The Usos vs. Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens will take place instead.
