Cody Rhodes said to still be a “priority” for now despite The Rock returning to WWE television

It was previously reported that Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes is said to be a long-term direction for WWE and a rematch at Wrestlemania 40 is a strong possibility.

With The Rock returning to WWE television, there is renewed speculation in Rock having a match against Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 40. During his interview with Pat McAfee, Rock teased the idea that a match against Reigns is possible for Wrestlemania 40.

Twitter account Boozer aka Better Wrestling Experience #BWE, which has been leaking plans for WWE television in recent months, noted the following about Rock’s appearance on Smackdown…

“Backstage were ecstatic with The Rock reactions. However no agreement over anything other than another meeting to discuss story options. Cody is priority atm [at the moment].”
