CM Punk’s AEW All Out 2022 media scrum remarks were possibly planned out in advance

As previously noted, CM Punk blasted Adam Page and Colt Cabana during the 2022 AEW All Out PPV’s post-show media scrum. Punk also took aim at AEW’s EVPs (The Elite) when he said “if you’re an EVP you don’t try to belittle your top babyface to try to get your niche audience that’s on the internet to hate him for some made-up bullsh*t rumor.” Punk’s comments led to a backstage altercation with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline wrote the following…

“One person noted that Punk two weeks ago when he returned said that the press conference after the PPV would be interesting.”

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez had the following exchange…

Alvarez: “I do know that if you talk to people there… they believe that this had been planned and that he was fully intending to go in and do exactly what he did on that day.”

Meltzer: “It was very clear it was planned because it was so practiced and everything. I think that the idea was he wanted to use Nick Hausman [WrestlingInc.com reporter] to tell his speech on Colt Cabana, which was pretty out of context, really.” (quotes courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)

During Todd Martin’s The Fix audio show on PWTorchVIP.com, Wade Keller said the following…

“I was told that Tony [Khan] knew something was coming from Punk, and he had some idea he had something he wanted to bring up… so, watching Punk, he had the agenda.” (quote courtesy of SEScoops.com)
