CM Punk reportedly made comments about Adam Page while being interviewed by ESPN

As previously noted, CM Punk reportedly participated in an ESPN interview to promote the debut of AEW Collision and said something that will “make a lot of people upset” within AEW.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Punk made comments about “Hangman” Adam Page and AEW was hopeful that the remarks would not be part of the published interview. While Punk and members of The Elite signed legal documents that would not allow them to publicly talk about each other, Meltzer noted that Page is not on the list of people Punk can’t mention. AEW is reportedly trying to sign Page to a new long-term contract with the company and there was said to have been at attempt at damage control.

It’s believed that AEW talent was aware of what Punk originally said in the interview. Meltzer wrote the following regarding the situation…

“It was a major talk of conversation among talent backstage at the show [Dynamite] in Washington, D.C., with versions of what they believed he talked about in the interview that only added salt to the unhealed wounds, but until the story is released, there really isn’t a lot that can be said about it. And the belief was that some of it was promoting the debut of Collision and that he tried to talk in a way where people would question and he could be seen as promoting the product as opposed to being negative about the company.”
