Chad Gable reportedly slated to have shoulder surgery; speculation about El Grande Americano

As seen during the June 23rd 2025 edition of WWE RAW, Penta snapped Chad Gable’s arm in a backstage segment. It was reported that the angle was done to write Gable off television due to an injury.

According to PWInsider, the word making the way around WWE talents is that Gable is slated for shoulder surgery next week. It was noted that Gable had been working hurt for some time.

At this time, there is no word on what WWE will do with the El Grande Americano character while Gable is recovering. Americano is currently the WWE Speed champion.

There has been speculation about Ludwig Kaiser stepping into the role of Americano since he made a cameo in Gable’s segment from RAW.
