Buddy Matthews writes about his AEW Grand Slam: Australia match but then deletes the post

As seen during the 2025 AEW Grand Slam: Australia event, Kazuchika Okada successfully defended the Continental title against Buddy Matthews. During his entrance, Matthews appeared to have injured his ankle while entering the ring.

In a post via Twitter/X, Matthews commented on his match…

“So thoughts after #AEWGrandSlamAustralia – If it wasn’t a 16×16 SH*T wrestling ring! 1: Wouldn’t have destroyed my ankle on my entrance due to holes in the padding. 2: Okada wouldn’t have been able to put his foot on the rope & I’d be champion. Sh*t happens…”

Matthews ended up deleting the post. WWE’s Rhea Ripley, who is married to Matthews, later wrote the following via Instagram…

“Ain’t no Roly-Poly ankles gonna keep us down! Let the honeymoon commence!”

Rhea shared several photos and Matthews was seen with a crutch in one of them.
