Alberto Del Rio reportedly claims that he will be returning to WWE

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Alberto Del Rio has been telling people that he plans to make a WWE return once his legal issues are cleared up. As previously noted, Del Rio is facing one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault after being indicted back in October 2020. A trial start date is currently scheduled for Monday, October 25th but it has already been delayed.

Meltzer noted the following regarding the situation…

“It would actually shock me if WWE would use him, not that anything is impossible and WWE could get away with it while any other U.S. company would be excoriated for it, but I don’t think that’s a direction that makes any sense for them at this point.”

In other Del Rio news, PWInsider.com reports that he has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Combate Americas over a breach of contract. Del Rio is claiming that he was never paid the $250,000 he was supposed to receive for his fight against Tito Ortiz on December 7th, 2019.
