AEW news items regarding The Elite’s contracts, Double or Nothing PPV buys, and PAC

Here are a few AEW news items for June 2nd 2023 via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com…

* AEW Double or Nothing 2023 is currently estimated at drawing around 130,000 to 135,000 PPV buys. Meltzer noted that the final number “could end up a little higher or lower” but it’s similar to what AEW has done for recent events and it doesn’t appear that the show was negatively affected by the WWE NXT Battleground PLE going head-to-head.

* Earlier this year, it was reported that AEW was working on signing the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega to new long-term contracts well before they become free agents. Meltzer noted that AEW “is getting more aggressive” in trying to get their contracts completed.

* PAC has not wrestled in AEW since the Death Triangle’s final best-of-seven match against The Elite on January 11th 2023. According to Meltzer, PAC is still “getting his nose fixed” that was injured during the series and was told “he should be back shortly.”
