Bruce Prichard expected to retire from his role in WWE after WrestleMania 43

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, multiple sources have confirmed that Bruce Prichard is expected to retire from his role as WWE’s Executive Director of Creative Writing & Talent (CWT) after WrestleMania 43. At 63, Prichard is reportedly expected to remain connected to the company as a consultant but would no longer live in Stamford or retain his current responsibilities. While one source identified WrestleMania as the end of his run, another cautioned that the timeline could change.

There is currently no word on who might succeed Prichard in the role.

Prichard, best known to fans for portraying Brother Love on-screen, worked behind the scenes as one of Vince McMahon’s top producers. After leaving WWE in 2008, he co-hosted the popular podcast Something to Wrestle With alongside Conrad Thompson, discussing WWE’s history, events and personalities. The show eventually received its own series on the WWE Network. JBL frequently co-hosts the podcast with Thompson today, although Prichard still makes appearances.

Prichard returned to WWE full-time in 2019 in a senior creative role, working directly with McMahon and later Paul “Triple H” Levesque. His responsibilities reportedly included overseeing television tapings when Levesque was absent. The three writing teams for RAW, SmackDown and NXT are believed to fall under Prichard’s leadership.
