News regarding the WWE Royal Rumble potentially becoming a two-night event

This week, it was officially announced that the 2027 Royal Rumble PLE will take place in Glendale, Arizona at State Farm Stadium. According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE seriously considered expanding the Rumble to a two-night event, with some within the company believing that would be the direction for 2027.

However, the current expectation is that the 2027 Rumble will remain a one-night event, potentially for the final time. WrestleVotes reported that there is significant internal interest in eventually transforming the Rumble into a multi-night destination event.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following about the Rumble potentially becoming a two-night show…

“They are not trying that this year. I think I’d [be] more a lot more cautious about it after this past week [SummerSlam]. I don’t know about a women’s Rumble show on a Saturday drawing a good stadium crowd on its own. But a lot will be different in 2028 and where business is overall will probably lead to that decision being made one way or the other.”
