El Grande Americano appears at event in Mexico following the arrest of Ludwig Kaiser
WWE star Ludwig Kaiser aka El Grande Americano, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, was arrested on May 20th 2026 in Orange County, Florida. Barthel was charged with battery after allegedly assaulting a man at their apartment building.
Americano was honored by Kings League Mexico on Friday night after the event was postponed from Thursday. Kaiser was granted permission to travel domestically and internationally while the case is pending, allowing him to appear in Mexico. The rescheduled appearance at the Kings League Dome was free for the first 300 attendees and promoted as a special serenade for the Americano character.

One video clip from the event shows Americano wiping a tear from his mask during his entrance as he was cheered by fans. Americano was also seen showing public affection toward Andrea Bazarte.
